Our experiences of lockdown has made us more aware of the importance of taking time to rest and reset. We have been given the opportunity to reclaim a Sabbath. How do we find rest in these changing times?
Here are some suggestions for your family to consider:
Plan not to shop or cook on Sunday. Prepare everything you need the day before. Include the whole family in this preparation. Cook pizzas and put them in the fridge.
Play together; card games, board games, puzzles. Encourage every member of the family to put their technology away during this time.
Make something together - craft, lego, art or craft. You could buy a kitset model to create as a family.
Plan not to shop on Sunday.
Listen to music together. You may even like to dance around the lounge. Have each person in the family choose a favourite song to add to the playlist.
Watch christian comedians on YouTube, rather than individually on their own devices. Find something you all enjoy watching together
Go for a walk together
On the walk - notice God’s creation
Memorise a short verse.
Bake something to give to a neighbour
Put together a gift basket
